The primary goal of the School Diagnostic is to help schools better prepare students for success in college and career. Through extensive research and fieldwork, Dr. David Conley and EPIC researchers identified Four Dimensions of College and Career Readiness that are measured with the School Diagnostic:
The School Diagnostic is administered online to a representative sample of students at each school. Core content teachers, counselors, and administrators also participate in order to capture perspectives from multiple groups within a school. An Account Manager is assigned at each school to help facilitate administration. On average, students complete the School Diagnostic in 30-40 minutes. Teachers typically complete the School Diagnostic in 90 minutes, administrators and counselors take about 60 minutes.
The School Diagnostic looks deeply at aspects of college and career readiness that are not typically measured by traditional instruments and surveys. With multiple groups taking the School Diagnostic, schools gain a comprehensive understanding of areas in which they excel and where improvement may be needed. The School Diagnostic reports provide summary and detailed information designed to provide schools with new insights to help better prepare students for life after high school. Customized, actionable recommendations, including links to valuable resources, gives information that schools can act upon to help improve outcomes for their students.
